Words simply cannot express our sadness....

Meommy still has leaky eyes, but she's trying hard to remember the happier times with Castor. She really appreciates your kind words of sympathy. Meommy called the vet this morning to tell him the sad news. He agreed it was probably a brain tumor. If it was, there would have been little to do that would have saved him. Diagnosis is expensive, and although treatment is possible, very expensive and also not always successful. The symptoms he had were consistent with a tumor. Meommy couldn't stand the idea of a necropsy, so we'll never really know.

Castor's sweet little body was laid to rest last night. He was swaddled in a blanket from Florida, since he was born there. He was placed next to out predecessor, Wun Sao under a dog wood tree. The tree is beautiful in the spring and fall. Lots of birds hang out there because there is a bird feeder in the tree. Any cat would love to rest under a tree with lots of birds.

Meommy is determined to spoil me rotten. I ate an entire can of stinky goodness last night. I've never eaten a whole can. I usually shared one with Castor. I had a hard time finishing it. She also bought me a brand new package of fuzzy mice and she's been playing all the fetch with me that I want to. I'm sure we'll all adjust, be a little less sad every day... The loss is very fresh in our hearts right now. Thanks so much for your kind words of sympathy. It means so much that so many of you also cared for my brother.

That sounds like a nice place, unner da dogwood tree wif birdies in it. It's good for the vessel that held your spirit and now that spirit can run around healthy at the rainbow bridge and when your mom comes for you, far off in the future for her and just a moment for you, you will recognize her and all the love will come back.

It sounds like Castor is resting in a very lovely place. It is so sad that he had to go to the Bridge at such a young age. In time, I know you will remember him with smiles instead of sadness.

Oh my dear friend Pollux! Your castor was not alone when he went to the bridge during the night.
Angels always fly down to gather the beautiful furry friend who leaves us behind...we wonder and worry ourselves with heartache about them being alone...but if you look real close, you might even find a feather or two from their wings.
Soft hugs at this very sad time....Love Miss Peach

We just heard the news about Castor and are sad. We all send our warmest, most healing thoughts your way and Teri wanted you to know she lost a kitty to a probable brain tumor or brain infection, too. Just like your beans, could not bring herself to have an autopsy performed. She said she just didn't want to remember Winnie like that.

She had been troubled by ear infections for a year or so, and one night Teri came in and found her unable to balance at all. She called her vet (who she works for) and she told her what medicines to give and to bring her in to the hospital in the morning.

Like your beans, Teri had let Winnie have a room to herself, so the other cats wouldn't bug her (she was timid) and she had the guest bedroom to herself and it's the nicest, sunniest room in our house.

And like your beans, that last night Teri went in and slept with Winnie to keep an eye on her and she is so glad that she did that, to be able to have kissed and hugged her all nite.

The next day, as she was driving to work, she kept thinking that the vet would try to talk her in to treating Winnie and Teri just kept thinking that she didn't want Winnie to suffer longer just so she could keep her in her life. But the vet examined her and said her body was trying to shut down and the kindest love would be to let her go to the bridge.

That was 9 years ago, and Teri eyes water now as she writes this to you, and with all the kitties that have been born at Furrydance, Winnie and her brother were the first and will always have a spot in Teri's heart, just as Castor will with you and your beans.

As time passes, may your happy memories linger and the sad ones fade...and that you will smile when you look out to the dogwood tree and think of Castor.

Warmfelines,
Teri and the cats of Furrydance

Castors's Meommy, your sweet baby boy sure has a beautiful place to rest and be remembered in with Wun Sao. Our brother Max had very similar symptoms of a brain tumor too and ultimately had to be helped to the Bridge a few months after having a cancerous tumor taken off of his leg, so we especially know how sad this was for you to go through, and as we said on our post on Thursday, Max is there at the Bridge for Castor. We are purring and purraying that you, Daddy and Pollux will be able to get through this really sad time. ... all of you are in our thoughts and Momma's tears are flowing for you.
Many hugs, purrs and headbutts,
Sabrina, Sam, Simon and Momma Jan

This is devastating news. I know all of you are crushed with sadness.
It has been almost a year since we lost our old man Caesar. I know Caesar was there at the bridge to welcome Castor with open arms. They are both running and playing and being healthy like kittens should be.
Meantime, we are holding all of you up in our prayers. We know your hearts are broken.
Castor's bodily resting place sounds beautiful. I am so glad that he is close by and dogwood trees are so lovely.

You are not alone in your sadness. Take a long long time to heal. Allow yourselves time.
Love always, Princess, Pierro and Rosemary
